This dramatic, weeping tree produces fine, lacy foliage in an eye-catching blend of colors throughout the growing season. Is it red with green tones, or green with red tones? It's both, with several shades of each, and in fall the display culminates with a finale of scarlet red. Plant this exquisite focal point in full or part sun. |

Acer palmatum dissectumTamukeyama' |
As new improved
red laceleaf cultivars supplant old selections it is a testimony
of unquestionable quality that `Tamukeyama' has survived the test
of time. First listed in 1710 in Japan, this rediscovered tree is
now generating great interest because of its ability to maintain
its dark purple-red color even in the hot, humid summers typical
of the eastern U.S. Extremely vigorous for a laceleaf cultivar with
long cascading branches. Leaves are bold and coarsely dissected
compared with other selections. |
