Vivid orange-red new growth that softens to slate blue makes this Pajaro manzanita a one-two punch of high contrast excitement. ‘Warren Roberts’ has dense, twisting branches and grows twice as wide as it is tall if left unpruned. Let it cascade over the edge of a retaining wall or limb it up to create a more upright form and show off the mahogany bark. Pink flowers frost the soothing waves of cool blue foliage in late winter through early spring. Manzanita means “little apple,” and birds will devour the orange drupes that follow. Selected by Roger Raiche.
