Blue Teardrop White Spruce
This aptly named white spruce cultivar has very short, greenish-blue needles and dense branching that gives this pyramidal tree a full, rounded habit. Small reddish brown cones contrast with the cooling blue, fine textured foliage. Tough and compact, this moderate grower makes a refined focal point for the woodland garden and shines even when space is limited and winters are harsh. Originally found as a sport on P. glauca ‘Echiniformis’ by Bob Fincham at Mitsch Nursery in Aurora, Oregon.
