Fin Mugo Pine

Found as a seedling from Pinus mugo ‘Columnaris’ by our sharp-eyed field manager Curt Moody, this collector’s curiosity retains its parent’s dense branching and narrow habit but matures to a much smaller size with an added twist of sculptural interest. We named it ‘Fin’ because it is a little fish compared with our much larger ‘Big Tuna’ Mugo pine. A growth rate of just 2-4″ per year make it easy to find a home for this one in a sunny rock garden or decorative container.
