Tasmanian Tree Fern

Originating 200 million years ago in the ancient jungles of the Jurassic period, Tasmanian tree ferns are living fossils that add tropical intrigue to today’s shade gardens. Slow growing fuzzy brown “trunks” are crowned by arching, glossy green fronds that can extend from 3-6’ long. This temperate fern will benefit from some winter protection in colder climates. Plant in containers or use multiples to create a magical understory forest.
