Bullata Japanese Spiraea
Spiraea japonica ‘Bullata’ is an underutilized heirloom that dates to 1881 and is a uniquely compact shrub with a broadly ovate shape, small, dark green leaves and bigger flower clusters than might be expected on such a small plant. The attractive blooms, a deep shade of rose crimson, lend summer beauty. Use plants to line a pathway, to edge a bed, or to accent other small-scale plants in a mixed bed or container.
