Royal Purple Japanese Wisteria
Wisteria floribunda ‘Royal Purple’ has slender, deep violet flower clusters 15-20″ long. It is sweetly scented and blooms early in spring. In fall, the leaves will be a clear yellow. The abundant seeded pods are 5-10″ long. Vines need to be trained for the first 3 years to establish, then require annual spring pruning after flowering.
