Macrobotrys Japanese Wisteria
One of the world’s great garden plants, Wisteria japonica ‘Macrobotrys’ is a sturdy ornamental vine is grown for its exceptionally long, 2-4’ racemes, bearing 80 to 125 well spaced pale violet flowers with a yellow blotch. Each leaf holds 11–17 pale bronze leaflets in spring which turn clear yellow in fall. Vigorous growth needs to be trained for the first 3 years to get established then requires an annual spring pruning after flowering.
